Cryotherapy isnt working on my genital warts……?
I just had my 3rd treatment of cryotherapy and they’ve got smaller but there still not going away. Is aldara or wartrol more effective?
That can be difficult to answer, as there are several types of HPV that cause warts, and everyone’s immune system is different. These variables mean treatments work different on different people.
Cryotherapy has a wart clearance rate of only 50% to 70% per a study done by the: Department of Dermatology, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. By the same study, the chance that warts would come back after cryotherapy was 20% to 70%.
The below web site lists several different types of medical treatments and their clearance rates. Many home treatments are also discussed.
Both Aldara and Wartrol work on boosting your own immune system to get rid of the warts. Aldara is a cream, and Wartrol is taken by mouth as a liquid.
Its probably going to come down to trying different things if cryotherapy is not working for you. In the end it will be your own immune system that stops the HPV virus itself. You may want to discuss with your doctor his/her past results with cryotherapy.

I had aldara cream but i kept forgetting to apply it everynight, but evetually the warts just disapeared anyway on their own!
good luck
